It's here! Our newest yard fixture arrived Sunday. These are inserts for cloth diapers! I imagine that they will be washed about 3-5 more times before baby Grey arrives.

Sun=Bleach

Since we are going to cloth diaper...'They" say sun is the best bleaching agent for diapers...so naturally, I needed a clothesline. I was looking for a used one but everyone I found had clothes on it and CC wouldn't ask. This model will not take up my entire yard and CC can take it down in the winter!

The coloring is WAY off but it is SO cute, its pink. 

(I know, I don't love pink but for the price!)

We will need to figure out a tray situation but who cares, its down right adorable.

Cloth Diapering

Yes, Baby Grey is going GREEN! The hippie in me WILL make this happen. Once you see the stats Thirsties shares in their catalog you might consider it too!

(Raw sewage that is tossed into our landfills contaminates our water supply and breeds viruses and bacteria that are then spread to humans by insects.)

I assume they leave the last sentence out because people are too concerned with convenience not conservation.

Remember this post from last year? Well, that dreaded table project is still incomplete.  Sitting down with a tube of liquid nail, a bucket of 'saved' tile, and a dedicated Erin I finally, got half of the table finished.  Hopefully, it will not take another year to finish the other half. CC said he would go buy me more glue and finish the border....do I want that or my bathroom finished?

I love this guy! He. Is. Bizarre. But I still love him.

It's a proud wifey moment when he reclaims things from the thrift store---but then when you see what he does with it...you never know.  Tomorrow for work he is going to Rocky Mountain Speed Way to race cars...and he needed a 'Hot Rod' outfit.

Soil

Something positive about living in Utah is the Sundance Film Festival.  In 2009 there was a film, Dirt that shows the importance of good soil.  I haven't had a chance to watch it yet but you know I am going to!  Please, watch it with me...and then START COMPOSTING!

Could I do more?

I woke up this morning jumped out of bed and flew to Target.  Every year for Earth Day they give away free recyclable bags to the first 'so many' customers.  Of course I couldn't miss it!  


Then, we came home and cleaned like crazy.  (My mom is spending the night.)  We leave for our vacation in the morning.  I made lunch.  Then that dreaded 5-7 page paper I was procrastinating for the past week--yea, I just finished it.  


Now, I need to pack.  Then off to church to volunteer and back home to entertain my mom before we leave.   


I am not sure where my nap time went but I am going to see if I can capture a few ZZZZ's before church.

Do you remember my "Crunchy" friend?  Well, I am envious of her...she is a much better "Green" person than me. She makes her own deodorant! Yes, I know it seems pretty cool, I am going to have to have to do it too.  Here are the directions if you think it is something you should consider---because you should!

Green Tip

Leave a bar of soap by the sink: BECAUSE: Most liquid soap comes in nonrenewable plastic packaging.  Substituting one bottle with a bar in each home would keep 2.5 million pounds of plastic out of landfills.

We refill our soap containers. You could also purchase soap with a recyclable container--just make sure you recycle it!

Bright Idea

Green Tip

Use soft-white compact fluorescent lightbulbs, not traditional incandescents.  BECAUSE: if every American household replaced one standard bulb with CFL, we could save enough energy to power 3 MILLION homes a YEAR!

Wondering what happened to the green tips?  How have you been doing on implementing them?  Pretty good here! We have even started recycling at our house!  (Recycling at home was really difficult for me...not really sure why..we have a blue garbage can for this very reason.)
