I must confess...

Hello, my name is Erin and I sleep with the same blanket every night...um...since I was 12.

It's true. (I still have the same blanket from when I was a baby (Bimby) but I retired it. It sits safe in my 'hope chest' so it doesn't get ruined.) My mom bought us (my sisters and I) new blankets when I was young and I put my 'Bimby' away and switched blankets. This blanket that I love is brown and blue with horrible little flowers. It is so worn out you can see through it. It has horrible patch jobs. It is a sad little blanket.  BUT I LOVE IT. Minus vacations, I sleep with it EVERY night. Even CC has been known to cuddle with it when he is sick. It is the source of a good night's sleep and the cure all in our house...

And....my dog, Chica and my baby, Brek have decided that this blanket (my blanket) is their property.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I do not think you understand the relationship I have with this blanket...I am up for sharing but...plain and simple--IT'S MINE!

Loves and hugs-I sound like a 2 year old.

Love Box

I am just now realizing that I have to do 2 love boxes this year! I haven't started yet...what to do?
If you have any ideas for my sweet little newborn...I am open for suggestions. I think I have Mr. CC covered but you never know!

When we found out we were pregnant Love Boxes were on clearance so I purchased one for B...CC is jealous because her's is bigger than his. The love that goes into them is equal!

Loves and hugs--What are you V-day plans?

Thanksgiving

Last year, our Thanksgiving looked very different than this year! You know what??? We wouldn't change it for one second! Each year offered something amazing...last year, we were on a cruise with our very good friends, Shane and Zak. This year we were snuggled at home with our baby!

What not to do...when you are 9 months pregnant.

I was feeling a little nostalgic last night so I started flipping through some of our old photo albums. As you know, we LOVE vacation...I mean LOVE vacation. (We try to take 2 large trips per year.) One of the photo albums was from a really good time in our life, healthy, happy, great careers, and in SHAPE. When you are 9 months pregnant and there is no end in sight, you probably shouldn't look at the healthiest you.

I just hope that girl comes back...even if I am not the same size and shape.

Loves and hugs--I miss her energy and her face.

Never Been Blogged Before

Say hello to my little friend, Louie!
Shane, Zak, CC, and Erin took a trip in November...on the way home we past Saks 5th Ave. Yep, I went in dress that way, and I came out with Louie! Isn't he wonderful?

Loves and hugs--I think so too!

Pottery

On our visit to Wyoming this weekend we picked up a 'new to us' kitchen table! This table has been in my family longer than me.  Tonight, after scrubbing 60 years of grease of the table and chairs CC and I dined on our first meal at our new family table!

What was for dinner you ask? Breakfast! You do not know this about me but I can make a mean pancake with homemade syrup. It is divine!  CC thinks Baby Grey is going to inherit this skill---and possibly the table!

Do you see the yellow plate? Yep, the 9 year anniversary gift, Pottery! CC and I went to Color Me Mine and made pottery to celebrate 9 blissful years of marriage!

Loves and hugs--Family traditions are grand!

Oldies but Goodies

No Bake Cookies!  I <3 them! Living in a rural community in Wyoming and not having a store a half mile away from your house makes a pre-teen creative.  I ALWAYS made No Bake Cookies as a chocolaty treat. My mom is CRAZY for food storage you could find sugar, cocoa, butter, oats, and milk in her house...even to this day.

Loves and hugs--Tonight, I celebrated my old chocolate craving with No Bake Cookies again!

Clown

Another memory from my old work...Many moons ago, we had a traveling clown that we would give during holiday parties, just for fun, or even for a pick-me-up.  At dinner the other night, I just learned the poor little clown's fate.  The last thing I knew...

My former boss Lauryn, went to Pennsylvania in 2006 for a month.  We decided to send the clown to her for a joke. Of course shipping the clown to her wasn't enough.  Heather, decided to send it in a box of Girl Scout Cookies, thin mints to be exact. We waited, and waited, and waited to hear something from Lauryn about the clown...nothing, not a word.  She returned and in a staff meeting she takes a call from Pennsylvania and comes back shocked.  She tells this story about a 90 year old volunteer that rode her jazzy to the office everyday to volunteer. To thank her she gave her the box of cookies.  Our faces drop...Then she proceeds to tell us that she just passed away.  At this point we are dying, and we are freaking out---just a little.  We decide we had better come clean...we tell her the clown is inside...we probably killed her!  Lauryn was pissed!

At dinner the clown came up and everyone started laughing, I said, what happened?  Is there more? They tell me the end of the story.  One year! Yes, one year after that traumatic end a box comes to Heather from Heaven, Pennsylvania and it is a new clown.  Heather freaks out and instantly hates the clown.  Another, year after that....they are at our famous Holiday Party and a man pounds on the door, leaves a package, and runs down the street.  The package, is addressed to Heather.  She opens it....dun-dun-dun--it's our old clown!  He has come back to haunt us.  I guess they laughed for hours that night.

It turns out--Lauryn kept the box--opened it and busted up laughing...then the plot for revenge began.

Now that I know the ending...I am not sure if the clown is really gone or if he might surface again someday.  I will keep you posted.

Loves and hugs---I miss those ladies (and Jim) so much!

Memories

Last night some of former my co-workers and I had a reunion!  Let me just say, I love each of them!  I forgot how good we really had it when I worked there.  Of course, we had our bad days, but the good days were amazing! In fact Julie shared her favorite memory of all time!

Julie: You know my favorite memory?
Erin: Budget meeting?
Everyone: Laughed, and looked at Jim.
Julie: It was a really tough year and we had to do budget cuts.  Jim walks in with 4 glasses of purple Kool Aid, and we all toasted!
Everyone: Laughed hysterically.

For those of you that do not know the purple Kool Aid reference--it dates back to Jim Jones and a mass-suicide.  I know, I know it is a little morbid---but who wouldn't love to work with people where you can make a sick joke and all get it?

Loves and hugs--Gosh I miss those ladies and Jim!

It's My Birthday...my...ba-ba-ba-Birthday!

Actually, it was yesterday!  I am the big 31!  Honestly, I never thought this day would come...deep down I died at the ripe old age of 24....you know...you never see yourself as a thirty-something who writes a blog. Well, here I sit in my pj's, in bed, blogging, and for fun doing a little homework.

Speaking of homework, you know I am in school to be a Marriage Therapist, right? Well...yesterday it occurred to me that I have the BEST name for my practice! I am so excited but...I cannot share it yet...I need to buy my website and register the name! Plus, I still have to finish school, do my practicum, get licensed (only and additional 4,000 hours), start making millions, buy a building on 25th street, find clients, hire people, the list is exciting/overwhelming!

Back on track...CC was the BEST husband EVER for my big day!  I had one of the busiest days of the year, work, give 300 Junior High kids a tour of the school, go to another function, buy myself a b-day cake (because I was at school), shop at Ikea, go to school, commute.  Another tangent...I know...back on track...He sent me the most beautiful bouquet of Gerber Daisies, loaded a digital picture frame with our favorite pictures, attended my work party, and not to overlook the cruise I am going on with my mom.

My work party was one of my most memorable birthday's ever. (You know I have had several amazing birthdays in my life...A trip to Jackson Hole with my sister and friend, celebrating my 21st birthday in Vegas, going on a cruise for my 24th birthday, getting a tattoo on my 25th, and not to forget Paris for my 30th.) Some of you know I had a very traumatic work experience for a couple of years and working with amazing people that truly care about YOU is a wonderful feeling.  In my life, I have been fortunate to work some amazing people, in fact, most of you are reading this, and most of you I still go to lunch with at least once a year (or more), and most of you have made a huge difference in my life!

Loves and hugs--Getting older has made me a little sappy.

The Love Box

Valentines Day is less than a month away!  Are you ready?  Our tradition for Valentines is the 'Love Box'.  What is the 'Love Box' you ask? Every day from the 1st-14th of February, CC receives a gift from Cupid.

In an earlier post, I mentioned the 5 Languages of love and mine is Gifts.  The fun part about this language is giving gifts!  I look forward to buying these gifts as much as he enjoys receiving them.

Loves and hugs--What are you doing for V-Day?  Stay tuned for daily LOVE quotes during the month of February.

14 Years!

January 11--CC and celebrated our first date--14 years ago!

Loves and hugs--where has the time gone?

It must be love!

CC did his part today! He mopped, did the dishes, cleaned the dining room, and cleaned the tub.  Like a little child he asked, "Am I done, can I go play?  Dutch is coming over."  AND...like that he was free.  Now, I sit and enjoy the peace and quite in my clean house!
(Oh, how I adore him!)

Lunch is in the crock-pot...speaking of lunch...it must be love because I actually cooked the turkey burger!

Something you might not know about me is--I do not eat red meat or pork products.  I haven't since I was 12.  I became so obsessed with raw products I stopped eating anything especially if I had to touch it.  (Even thinking about it now is grossing me out.)  CC has ALWAYS cooked our meat products--even purchasing them is on his chore list.  The thought...eeewwwe.  It is truly love!

Loves and hugs....Hurry come quick, my house is clean!

How CC got his name!

Two years ago, I went out of town for a Chamber retreat, my friend needed a roomie so I volunteered. We had SO much fun…we each drank a bottle of champagne and as we were talking about my Cute Cory, we decided his nickname would be CC.  A couple of months later, we went to a ‘Come as You Aren’t’ party/fundraiser and our name card said Erin and CC Grey.  Since that day ,Cory is CC!
(Triumph Photo Shoot September 2010)
A fun fact about that night…CC dressed as Willy Wonka and won first prize!
(Cory and Erin--October 2008)
Loves and hugs—CC is the best nickname for him…sometimes it even stands for Cranky Cory.
